Apocalypse
Perhaps it won’t be so easy for the collective might of the X-Men to repair the twisted, wibbly-wobbly timelines in the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past — word is, the next movie in the series, X-Men: Apocalypse, will spin directly out of next summer’s anticipated blockbuster.
Mutant mastermind Bryan Singer first used his Twitter feed to announce X:A as a summer 2016 release, and now he has confirmed that he will direct the film, which will adapt another popular storyline from the comic book franchise. “The Age of Apocalypse” story saw the evil mutant Apocalypse take advantage of someone else altering the past to take over the world and install mutants as the ruling class.
X:A will focus on the versions of the characters that first appeared in X-Men: First Class (James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence et al.) — but can Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) be far behind? Singer also Tweeted that Apocalypse will not be an alien in the movie continuity.
