This post is a little different: a look at a trailer for a romantic comedy. But this rom-com is special, because it stars the adorable Karen Gillan, best-known to the world as DOCTOR WHO’s Amelia Pond.
Karen left the series last year to strike out on her own, and the result is Not Another Happy Ending, in which she plays Jane Lockhart, a best-selling debut novelist who suffers writer’s block on her second novel.
Next up for Karen is next year’s release of the horror film Oculus (with BATTLESTAR GALACTICA’s Katee Sackhoff), and she is just about to start shooting Marvel’s latest blockbuster, Guardians of the Galaxy, in which she was cast against type to play a villainess! (Word is circulating that she will play the bounty-hunting angel Angela, but that character is not part of the Guardians mythos.)
Not Another Happy Ending premieres at the Edinburgh International Film Festival on June 30. Hopefully will get an American release, even if it’s just on Blu-ray.
