Strax has filed another field report for the Sontaran military, this time looking at the Doctor’s once and future frenemy, Queen Elizabeth I.
For some reason, I never tie of Strax’s (Dan Starkey) inability to differentiate between human “boys” and “girls.” I chuckle every time. SONTAR HA!
The Doctors (Matt Smith, David Tennant and John Hurt) will next encounter Good Queen Bess (Joanna Page) in “The Day of the Doctor,” the DOCTOR WHO 50th anniversary story, to be simulcast globally on Nov. 23.
The BBC has confirmed that a new official trailer for “The Day of the Doctor” — one that contains actual footage from the 50th anniversary story itself — will premiere tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 9, at 8 p.m. on BBC One.
No word yet on whether our friends at BBC America here in the colonies will simulcast the trailer, as they did the announcement of Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor.
The Beeb also released four more new images from the anniversary story, including Joanna Page playing Queen Elizabeth I. Remember when David Tennant’s 10th Doctor told Ood Sigma that he married Good Queen Bess way back in “The End of Time Part 1”? And how she hated him and ordered her guards to kill him in “The Shakespeare Code”? Sounds like fun!
Doctor on call
Thanks to photos leaked from DOCTOR WHO location filming in South Wales, it would seem the 10th Doctor who appears in this fall’s 50th anniversary story will come from a time near a certain existing story. Combining the location photos with the confirmed information that the Doctor is accompanied by Rose gives some inkling as to when he comes from.
