New ‘Jessica Jones’ Trailer Really Sets the Stage for Series

This comes as a bit of a surprise: I did not expect another promo clip for Marvel Television‘s new Jessica Jones series before its big release on Netflix, but here it is:

This trailer really paints a picture of the series: Jessica (Krysten Ritter) kicking some serious ass and Killgrave (David Tenant) being creepy as hell… It will be the Purple Man’s mental powers testing her physical prowess.

Check out the first official trailer here.

All 13 episodes of Jessica Jones will be available for download as of Nov. 20.

Netflix Releases Motion Poster for Marvel’s ‘Jessica Jones’

Netflix and Marvel Television have released a “motion poster” for their latest co-production, Jessica Jones, which will be released on Nov. 20. It appears the poster features all-new art by noted Daredevil comic book artist Alex Maleev.

Coming up this Friday is the first full trailer for the series, but in the meantime, we can have a look at the last teaser trailer, which features the voice of DOCTOR WHO’s 10th Doctor, David Tennant, as Killraven, a.k.a. the Purple Man, who appears to be the Big Bad for this season.

Jessica Jones focuses on former super heroine Jessica (Krysten Ritter), who now works as a private investigator in Hell’s Kitchen in New York City specializing in cases involving people with extraordinary abilities.

The series also stars Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker and Carrie-Anne Moss as Harper.

All 13 episode of the series will premiere at the same time on Netflix on Nov. 20.

Netflix Photos Tease JESSICA JONES

All 13 episodes of Marvel’s JESSICA JONES  will debut on Netflix on Friday, Nov. 20, as Marvel’s second original series (after DAREDEVIL) in the studios’ co-production venture.

These photos are the first official images from the new series, and include Krysten Ritter (BREAKING BAD) as Jessica; Mike Colter (THE GOOD WIFE) as Luke Cage; David Tennant (DOCTOR WHO) as Killgrave, also known (in the comics) as the Purple Man; Rachael Taylor as Patricia “Trish” Walker, the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s version of Patsy Walker, a.k.a. the superheroine Hellcat in the comics; and Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix) as Harper, a new character created for this series.

More Support for A.K.A. JESSICA JONES

krystenakaMarvel’s forthcoming Netflix series A.K.A. JESSICA JONES is expanding the cast again, this time announcing the hiring of Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty and Will Traval, according to The Wrap.

Darville (THE ORIGINALS) will play Malcolm, a neighbor of Jessica who finds his life tangling with hers in “a surprising way.” (This could possibly be the same Malcolm depicted in the comic book series Alias as a Jessica Jones fanboy.)

Moriarty (THE KINGS OF SUMMER) will portray Hope, “a young girl who becomes a client of Alias Investigations.”

Traval (who co-starred with Moriarty in RED WINDOW) plays a tough New York cop.

Krysten Ritter stars as the titular superhero-turned-private investigator in the 13-episode initial season which will debut sometime later this year.

A.K.A. JESSICA JONES Looks Promising, Adds Moss

akajessicaKrysten Ritter has begun filming the title role in A.K.A. JESSICA JONES, the Netflix series based on the Marvel comic book Alias, which is set to debut later this year.

Since Jessica is a retired superheroine, the street clothes the former BREAKING BAD actress wears pretty much constitute her “costume.” She seems to have the right look to me, and it certainly looks like the series will be true to the comic, which was notable for its street-level grit.

And in more good news, Carrie-Anne Moss, of The Matrix fame, is joining the cast as an original character named Harper. She is “a person in a position of authority who could prove a powerful ally to Jessica — if the titular character doesn’t completely alienate her first, that is,” according to The Wrap.
