BBC America have unveiled a short-yet-thrilling trailer for the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas Special, “Twice Upon a Time,” which sees the 12th Doctor (Peter Capaldi) team up with the First Doctor (David Bradley) to solve a unique problem with Time freezing.
Oh, and they both are facing traumatic regenerations, one of which will result in the first female incarnation of the Doctor, as portrayed by Jodie Whittaker.
This story marks not only the end of Capaldi’s reign as the Doctor, but the close of the Steven Moffat era, as he is leaving his seven-year post as executive producer and lead writer of the series. HIs tenure which began with Matt Smith‘s debut as the 11th Doctor. Moffat’s replacement, Chris Chibnall takes over as show runner to oversee his former BROADCHURCH star, Whittaker, in Season 11 next fall.
