Since the Guardians of the Galaxy is the most cosmic film franchise of them all, we cannot expect director James Gunn to make a pedestrian announcement about the Blu-ray release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – it has to bend reality!
And this does. Gunn has brought in no less a cosmic entity than David Hasselhoff to break the news of Guardians on home video with an original song, “Guardians Inferno.” Grab hold of something and roll video:
Did you spot Gunn and his brother Sean? There are also several other familiar faces from the cast — and even a Stan Lee cameo. (This is Marvel, remember!) No, there’s no Groot (unless he’s in disguise), but he does get a couple of shout-outs thanks to the lyrics “infantilized sequoia” and “We are Groot.”
If the Sneepers featuring The Hoff can’t make you want to watch GoGVol.2, with its disco-infused soundtrack, nothing will. And I can do nothing for you.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 comes out on digital Aug. 8 and Blu-ray and and 4K Ultra HD Aug. 22.
