That planned CBS SUPERGIRL series is looking for someone for portray the title character’s cousin, Superman.
Technically, the show is looking for a Kal-El “body double,” so Superman might only be seen from a distance or in silhouette, as opposed to actually having lines.
According to ProjectCasting.com, the production is looking for someone “5-foot-11 or taller” and “square-jawed,” with “a ripped physique” be portray the double of a “DC Comic Superhero.” How mysterious! But then again, interested parties are told to respond via e-mail with “Superman” in the subject line.
The cast already includes Melissa Benoist as Supergirl, Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen and Laura Benanti as Alura Zor-El.
This bootleg short film based on the children’s TV series MIGHTY MORPHIN’ POWER RANGERS is called Power/Rangers and was directed by Hollywood veteran Joseph Kahn (Torque), who got big names Katee Sackhoff (BATTLESTAR GALACTICA) and James Van Der Beek (DAWSON’S CREEK) to star in his bloody, foul-language-filled reimagining.
This movie is so far beyond awesome that I can’t even.

It’s now official: Neil Blomkamp‘s new xenomorph movie for 20th Century Fox, which is being called Alien 5, will star Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley, and will ignore Alien3 and Alien: Resurrection.
Blomkamp says his film is designed to fit right after Aliens, so bye-bye, prison planet, and so long, Newborn!
Let’s hope Michael Biehn (Hicks) is the next to commit to the movie.
