After teasing fans that he had planned an “Alien” movie that didn’t pan out with the studio, director Neil Blomkamp (District 9) revealed this week on his Instagram that 20th Century Fox has hired him to make the movie after all, according to Variety.
Blomkamp said the idea for the “Alien” film was on his mind while he was filming his current movie, Chappie (opening March 6), which features Sigourney Weaver. He told the world Fox didn’t bite on the idea, and the director released a bunch of the concept art that he had worked up featuring Ripley (Weaver), Hicks (Michael Biehn), xenomorphs and some interesting new stuff.
