A second promotional video was released today to tease The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1 and, like the first, it features a speech from President Snow (Donald Sutherland) — but this one does not go according to the script:
That’s Beetee (Jeffrey Wright) hijacking the president’s feed from the presumed-lifeless District 13 to trumpet the news that the Mockingjay still lives.
My favorite part of this video is the addition of former Hunger Games victor and current Panem political prisoner Johanna Mason (Jena Malone), who is flanking the president along with fellow victor and captive Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). While Peeta looks every inch the glassy-eyed propaganda tool, the indomitable Johanna cannot help fidgeting, and she fairly oozes anger. That’s my girl!
Remember, the concluding book in Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games trilogy is being made into two movies; the first installment opens Nov. 21, and the concluding chapter on Nov. 20, 2015.
