Looks like there’s no going back now for the fifth installment of the Terminator franchise — Terminator: Genesis has a director in Thor: The Dark World’s Alan Taylor, and now it has a leading lady: Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen on HBO’s GAME OF THRONES, will portray Sarah Connor, the “mother of the future.”
Perhaps it’s a coincidence, but Taylor has directed quite a few episodes of GoT, so he probably feels very comfortable with her. Clarke, recently seen on Broadway doing a much-publicized nude scene in Breakfast at Tiffany‘s, reportedly beat out Brie Larson in a head-to-head battle that went down to the wire.
Arnold Schwarzenegger will be back as the
Governator Terminator, and the project is looking more and more like a reboot rather than yet another sequel.
Interestingly, Clarke is not the only GoT cast member to play Sarah Connor; Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) portrayed her in the TV series TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES on Fox.
