I cannot vouch for the quality of the films, but these recently released posters either grabbed my attention (Filth) or promote movies that I’m looking forward to seeing (Thor: The Dark World).
The two new entries on the Thor sweepstakes cannot top the previously released image. Sorry.
The new Riddick poster lends the action flick an unaccountably lighthearted feel; I like it a lot, but I’m not sure it’s representative of the actual movie. (At least, I hope it isn’t!)
The amazing yellow-and-blue color mix, along with the image of a guy riding a liquor bottle make the intriguingly-named Filth worth looking into. Filth is based on a 1998 crime novel by Irvine Welsh, who also penned the source material for Trainspotting, so it’s bound to be… er, unusual.
I am really intrigued by the forthcoming Plush. The story of a married singer who becomes enthralled by her band’s new guitarist, it stars the ethereally beautiful Emily Browning (Sucker Punch) — and it’s directed by Catherine Hardwicke, who, in my opinion, should have had her Directors Guild of America card revoked for inflicting the wretchedly-directed (and just plain awful) Twilight on the world. Can she regain the trust of Hollywood? Does she deserve it after the misfire that was her vampire follow-up, Amanda Seyfried in Red Riding Hood?
