This is what Hollywood “It Girl” Jennifer Lawrence will look like in the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Director Bryan Singer Tweeted this photo of J-Law getting a makeup touch-up on the Montreal set of the latest X-Men movie. Eagle-eyed fans who… erm, study the photo closely will be hard-pressed to notice the difference in Jennifer’s costuming from X-Men: First Class, but there is a big one: In her first outing as the mutant shapeshifter, Jennifer wore little more than blue body makeup and strategically-placed bits of latex — but this time, she is donning a body stocking that gives the illusion of the same minimal coverage.
The reason for the switch is not some newfound modesty on the part of the newly-minted Oscar winner; no, it’s simply a concession to reduce her time in the makeup chair — reportedly six hours for First Class.
Zoë Saldana took some out from promoting Star Trek Into Darkness to offer up a few words about her next potential deep-space franchise, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, in which she will play a green-skinned assassin called Gamora. (Assuming the character follows the lead of the comic book, that is…)
About the movie and her character, Zoë said:
“It feels unique, but it doesn’t feel like it hasn’t been done before. I love the levity in the script and I like the casting of it. I’ve been a fan of Chris Pratt and I think that his gifted, natural comedic timing might come in handy to play someone like Star-Lord.
“I’m in the process right now of the evolution of conceiving Gamora’s look. It’s exciting! We’re trying to work out comfort also because, you know that I definitely want to be involved in the stunt-doing of my character.”
Guardians of the Galaxy is set to be released on Aug. 1, 2014.
