New DOCTOR WHO Minisode and Trailer!

In case you didn’t get to see the DOCTOR WHO content from last night’s BBC Children in Need telethon, I bring you a look at the special prelude to the Christmas story and the trailer for the Xmas episode itself.

I must confess to being a little bit disappointed by the minisode, “The Great Detective,” only in the sense that the Doctor  does not play much of a role in it. It’s funny and entertaining, but left me wanting more. The trailer for the Christmas story, however, is just as awesome as one would hope…

Here is the minisode, “The Great Detective”:

And now the first Xmas trailer:

“The Great Detective” tells us that the Doctor has “retired” from helping people. Put that together with his new, somber dress style, and it is clear that the deaths of Amy and Rory have hit him harder than the loss of any other companions. My favorite part of the minisode was not actually the story itself – as fun as it was to see Madame Vastra, Jenny and Strax again – but rather the bantering between Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman. They seem to get along well, and you can see the hints of chemistry starting to form. And seems willing to jump right into the spirit of the story, with that bit of tomfoolery about is she/isn’t she playing the same character…

And how about those Snowmen? They look like very creepy adversaries – especially for an episode called, “The Snowmen.”

Oh, yeah? Sez you!
