We all know that when the seventh series of DOCTOR WHO kicks off on Sept. 1, we will be watching the final five episodes featuring Amy and Rory as the 11th Doctor’s companions, and it will be a sad time for all.
However, starting Monday, the BBC have cooked up a way for us to spend a little more time with the Ponds being the Ponds. The web series Pond Life will let fans hang with the couple and see what happened off-screen between the end of Series 6 and the start of the new season with “Asylum of the Daleks.” What exactly do Amy and Rory get up to during their down time?
But don’t my word for it; see what Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill have to say:
The five-part series was written by veteran DOCTOR WHO and TORCHWOOD scribe Chris Chibnall, and runs from Aug. 27-31 on the official DOCTOR WHO website and the BBC1 YouTube Channel. Here are Chibnall’s comments:
“Pond Life provides us with a lovely opportunity to catch up with Amy and Rory since we saw them at the end of the last series. It opens with them at home and gives us an insight into just what happens when the Doctor drops in and out of their lives. Travelling with the Doctor is one of the greatest things you can do, but it’s fun to spend a few moments looking at the chaos he can also bring.”
I’m sure a lot of the fans who have been plugged into the rumor mill all summer will be able to guess what the “bombshell” revelation is at the end of Pond Life, but I’m looking forward to seeing how it plays out.
