OK, But What’s It About?

Thanks to Comic-Con International: San Diego 2012, we know have a couple of more episode titles from the seventh season of DOCTOR WHO, including the second one — which show-runner Steven Moffat had previously dubbed “the best name of anything, ever.” That moniker: “Dinosaurs on a Spaceship,” according to the BBC.

Moffat said:

“’Dinosaurs On A Spaceship’ — what more do you need! The Doctor will come face to face with some of the most monstrous creatures evolution has ever produced, on some of the most monstrous sets we’ve ever built. We took one look at Chris Chibnall‘s brilliant script and said to ourselves, ‘We’re going to need a bigger corridor.'”

The third episode, the Western, has been dubbed “A Town Called Mercy.” Moffat added:

Toby Whithouse‘s ‘A Town Called Mercy’ takes us into a genre DOCTOR WHO hasn’t attempted since the Sixties – it’s a full-blooded western. We knew from the start we need some serious location shooting for this one, and given the most iconic American setting imaginable, there was only one place to go — Spain.”

So it looks like Matt Smith (the Doctor), Karen Gillan (Amy) and Arthur Darvill (Rory) will need to strap in tight for the first three rolicking episodes of the new fall season, “Asylum of the Daleks,” “Dinosaurs on a Spaceship” and “A Town Called Mercy.”

ETA: The fourth episode is titled “Cubed,” and is also written by Chibnall.

Oh, yeah? Sez you!
